Looking for the coolest cocktail bars in Barcelona? There’s no one better to ask than Juan Camilo Rodríguez – fashion stylist, contributor and our very own LUXE Barcelona resident editor. Below, he shares three of his latest picks for an intimate tipple in and around the city:
L’Ascensor
Named after the rickety wooden elevator that takes you up to the bar, L’Ascensor is located in the Gothic quarter and known for their wide range of excellent cocktails – especially if you’re a Moscow Mule and/or Dry Martini fan. Its off-centre location means that you’ll be hanging with more locals than tourists, leaving you to soak in the Art Nouveau interiors in peace.
Belvedere Restaurant Coctelería
Located in the middle of L’Eixample in a small passage, Belvedere is one of the classiest bars in town to have a drink, paired with a wide selection of bites in the daytime. Separated from the main streets, this outdoor oasis with garden terrace is decked out with velvet sofas, making it the perfect setting to while away the day.

Les Gens Que J’Aime
Established in 1967, Les Gens Que J’Aime is an enigmatic place where you can transport yourself back in time several decades – with cocktails in hand, of course. Maintaining the same aesthetic as 50 years ago, it continues to draw crowds today with its plush, dim-lit interiors, chilled jazz music and tarot card readings.
