3 Virtual Easter 2020 Events You Can Join From Home

While Covid-19 may have us all cooped up at home, that’s no reason not to celebrate Easter this year. Break out the dip-dyed eggs, boxes of chocolate and bunny ears—here are three cracking ways to have a ‘hoppy’ Easter weekend at home.

For active types: Bunny Rock 5K

Bunny Hop 5K Virtual Easter Event

Walk, skip, or hop your way through a virtual 5K race with the Bunny Rock 5K, organised by Adrenaline Special Events in Chicago. For the entrance fee of US$40, every Bunny Rock 5K participant gets a set of bunny ears, sunglasses, Dri-Fit ‘80s rock band tee, race bib, finisher medal and certificate—we’d call that a steal!

All you need to do is run the 5K within the month of April (indoors, outdoors or on a treadmill), share your photos on social media with the tag @adrenalinespecialevents and #bunnyrockvirtual and upload your results to the community. Partial proceeds go towards Red Door Animal Shelter, a no-kill shelter in the US focused on the rescue and adoption of cats, dogs and rabbits.

For the less active: Disney-themed Easter egg hunt

Disney fans will be eggcited to hear that Disney Backstage Collection is hosting their first-ever virtual Easter egg hunt. Launching on Friday, April 10 at 9am (PDT) and running till Easter Monday, all you need to do is be the first to correctly identify the hidden storytelling details woven into three exclusive Disney T-shirts. Check out their Instagram page (@disneymovieinsiders) for more details on how to win a 3-month subscription.

Note: Contest is open to US residents only, but there’s no harm in joining in from overseas for a bit of Disney trivia.

For families: Picture Me Bunny

Easter Bunny Pom Pom

Just like encounters with Santa, meeting the Easter Bunny is a sweet, age-old tradition for kids that really shouldn’t be missed. Not to fret—Picture Me Bunny is here to save the day.

Simply snap a photo of your kids and/or pets on a white background (a bedsheet works fine), send your photos to Picture Me Bunny and they’ll PhotoShop them into a photo with the Easter Bunny himself. No more lining up at the mall or traumatic, scarred-for-life moments = everyone wins. Plus, your kids may never know the difference, shhh…
