Can I, should I, and will I ever travel again...? If you've been asking yourself these same three questions, you're not alone. A new website aims to show us the way forward – read on to learn more about the online Covid-19 travel planner that's currently taking off.
In this brave new world of travel that involves vaccines, quarantines, and multiple Covid-19 tests, it can be downright confusing, if not seemingly impossible, to plan a trip. But luckily, one website is aiming to make things a little clearer for us all.
On canitravel.net, all you have to do is enter your passport/residency, where you are travelling from and your intended destination – plus a toggle to say if you are vaccinated – and out comes the red, orange, or green light for your trip.
Scroll down and you'll be able to see if you can enter the destination legally, whether a Covid-19 test is required before or upon arrival, and whether quarantine is a must for either leg of the trip – simple as that.
The now indispensable site was founded by three Italian friends – Filippo Galli, Giorgio Motti and Fred Balzi – who found themselves split apart in Thailand, Sri Lanka and Vietnam during the COVID-19 pandemic without any clear information on where they could (or could not) travel.
Launched last May, it now sees hundreds of thousands of travel-starved visitors coming through on a daily basis – to plan trips, to travel vicariously, or simply, just out of curiosity. With new features on the way, including country alerts and ways to integrate user feedback, watch this space as the 'Can I Travel' site evolves.
