Style-Setting Sustainable Brands Around the Globe

The easy-wear jumpsuits are a must for any globestrutting stylista. Available from Kapok at the National Design Gallery, or order online and they’ll deliver to your hotel.

The Hula, Hong Kong

There is nowhere in the Fragrant Harbour quite like this trove of pre-loved designer threads, bags and accoutrements, expertly curated by founder Sarah Fung. Garments are sourced from industry insiders and meticulously checked before they hit the rail to ensure top-notch quality (and that it’s the real-deal, but natch). With such fab swag you won’t leave empty-handed. Tie in with a visit to Sin Sin Atelier and de Sarthe Gallery (see Shopping in our full Hong Kong guide).

Take the scent of your holiday home with you with one of the delicious lemongrass, jasmine or frangipani soy candles.

Gjusta Goods, Los Angeles

Working on your next Insta flat lay? Zip to this edit of artisan treasures. The retail sibling to Gjusta and Gjelina (in what used to be bakery Gjusta’s dry goods storage), this so-LA siren shelves ceramics as found at the restaurants alongside totes and aprons (in the linen of your choice, natch), and a fine collection of vintage. The beautiful gift sets make perfect take-home gifts.

Model turned vintage fashion guru Anouschka has a cultish following among industry insiders for her 30,000 strong collection of pre-loved, rare garments spanning 20s-80s. Be sure to make an appointment, then dive on in… though don’t jump unless you have a firm idea of what you’re looking for, or you’ll be lost for hours.

Fonfique, Istanbul

Ceylan Kolat’s sprightly printed travel accessories can be found in stores around the world, but when in Istanbul, beeline to the Bebek showroom to stock up on the latest collection. Nature-inspired, hand-drawn prints adorn shoulder bags, travel pouches, make-up bags and laptop cases in every Pantone imaginable, all made with minimal impact on the environment. Eileen Fisher, New York

Ms Fisher was way ahead of the curve when she launched her eponymous, ethical women’s wear label in 1984. The brand now has an impressive 14 stores across the city and draws the NYC style set with an effortlessly wearable collection of clothing, shoes and accessories. Defined by a neutral palette and simple clean lines, all items are made from high-quality organic or sustainably sourced materials. We particularly love the butter-soft washed leather sneakers, with Nappa suede lining.
