LUXE Loves in Bali
Our fave picks – buy the guide for the rest
Master of tropi-luxe Bill Bensley demos his trademark talent for OTT whimsy in a lush encampment riffing on Dutch heritage and Balinese design, home to just 23 palatial abodes each with its own salt-water plunge pool. Statement touches include regal four posters, thrones for loos and generous refreshment trunks for a roaring time at your own camp. Pretend you’re eating your daily catch at intimate Asian BBQ Api Jiwa and curl up with s’mores at the Camp Fire, or join a ranger for wider adventures – camping has never been quite so much fun.

We’re crushing this World of Interiors-worthy den of idiosyncratic Indo and Balinese-inspired decor, as functional as it is fun. Pack an extra Rimowa for some serious haulage, such as songket lampshades on carved teak bases, seashell wall hangings, hand-crocheted throws along with crazy coloured cushion covers, appliqué quilts and quirky collectibles.

Exuding a cosmo atmos more Melbie than Bali, this glass-roofed mod-Italian is the best on the island. Helmed by Aus-Italian Nicolas Lazzaroni (ex-Uma by COMO), it’s steep on price, but worth the spenny. Sophisti-plated produce-driven highlights incl. line-caught fish, seafood, and pasta (natch), served on exquisite, handmade terracotta.
