Business or pleasure? Why not both at the Grand Hyatt Singapore, which blends high-end hospitality with laid-back resort vibes. Recently reopened with revamped rooms, elevated gastronomy, and an outdoor pool area that’s basically a tropical escape, here’s what we loved most about it during our recent stay in Singapore:
Location

Located right off Orchard Road on Scotts Road (between Tangs and Far East Plaza), Grand Hyatt Singapore is perfectly situated for city strolls and shopping sprees. Getting there is a breeze from Changi Airport – simply grab a cab and you’re there within 30 minutes. Easy.

Rooms
Having just undergone a two-year closure for renovation in 2022, the Grand Hyatt Singapore has reopened in phases starting with the nature-inspired Terrace Wing.

Our standard King room was decked out in warm and rich wooden tones with zesty lime green accents, and at 42 sqm, felt airy and spacious with a walk-in wardrobe, multi-purpose desk, large king bed and dual sinks in the bathroom.

The room also had a cute little sunlit nook that jutted out over the hotel’s outdoor pool below, which was perfect for lounging, relaxing in, or converting into a single bed if needed.
Our room also came with Club Lounge access, which was located on the G/F across StraitsKitchen with plenty of space to chill, have meetings and get some work done.
Dining
Post-renovation, the Grand Hyatt Singapore now boasts a mix of old and new dining venues, including the showstopping Le Pristine Singapore by Michelin-starred chef Sergio Herman from Zeeland in The Netherlands.

LUXE tip: Don’t miss your photo opp in Le Pristine’s wine tunnel and cosy booths.
StraitsKitchen, the first Halal-certified buffet in a five-star hotel on Orchard Road, offers everything you would ever want in a hotel buffet (including Chinese, Malay, Indian and Nonya staples), whilst BRIX is the spot for a night of live music and/or wine and whisky, depending on your mood.

Known for Singapore’s best tiramisu (we concur), Pete’s Place is still the go-to spot for authentic comfort Italian foods made under the watchful eye of chef Salvatore Giorgio Catania. Said tiramisu can also be purchased from The Shop on the G/F, which also serves freshly baked goods and amazing coffee alongside cakes, bubbly, and custom bottles of Glenlivet whisky and beer by Brewerkz made exclusively for the hotel.

Poolside, Oasis delivers a resort-like experience with BBQ dinners featuring sustainable seafood, indoor/outdoor dining and a cocktail bar that’ll make you feel like you’re on a tropical vacation.
LUXE tip: Be sure to come hungry for BBQ Night on Fridays and Saturdays, which is an absolute steal at S$88 per person for what seems like an endless amount of food (four starters including prawn cocktails, oysters, and salads; a seafood platter served with grilled veggies and potatoes; and four desserts to finish) – see the full menu here.
Facilities
With wellness at its core, Grand Hyatt Singapore boasts a gorgeous new Damai Spa with a menu of quality massages and facials, plus a fully equipped 24-hour fitness centre with a dedicated outdoor area for anything from skip rope to cross-training and sled pulls.

There are also now two pools at the Terrace Wing – a Wellness Pool with a jacuzzi, jet sprays and hydromassage areas, and a 25m pool for actual swimming, if you so desired.

Around the pools are plenty of places to lay around and relax, including teardrop shaped Dedon cocoons, private cabanas and daybeds.

Verdict
With its plush rooms, lush greenery, brand new wellness facilities and top-notch F&B options, Grand Hyatt Singapore has everything you need for work and play. Plus, its prime location just a stone’s throw away from busy Orchard Road makes it that much more of a true oasis in the city.
