Hong Kong Art Week is here – and beyond the big fairs like Art Basel Hong Kong and Art Central, the city is a-buzz with plenty of other exhibitions to check out. Here are just a few to pop around to:
The Peninsula’s Art in Resonance Programme
Head to the Grande Dame of Hong Kong to see The Peninsula’s Art in Resonance programme, which showcases the works of Hong Kong artists Phoebe Hui and Chris Cheng (aka. h0nh1m) alongside Shanghai-based artist Lin Fanglu at its flagship property.
Peep on Hui’s Lunar Rainbow on the hotel’s signature facade, Lin’s textile installation ‘She’s Bestowed Love’ in The Lobby, and h0nh1m’s jaw-dropping installation featuring Tai Ping carpets in The Verandah.
Tomorrow Maybe at Eaton Hong Kong
Did you know? Eaton Hong Kong’s emerging art-focused gallery Tomorrow Maybe is a Cultural Partner of Art Basel Hong Kong 2025, and they’ll also be hosting a series of public events during Hong Kong Art Week and beyond.
Under the theme of “Asian Futurity,” they include “The Golden Snail” by Thai artist Chulayarnnon Siriphol, a solo exhibition by HOLOK Chen, a screening of “In The Mood for Art”, and a meditation workshop by queer Taiwanese-American performance artist and filmmaker, Jas Lin.
THE FRENCH GIRL at East Hong Kong
Over at EAST Hong Kong, THE FRENCH GIRL aka. Caroline Tronel has put together a work that blends sustainability with urban aesthetics. Featuring three bronze scluptures of – you guessed it, a crushed can –, a chocolate collab with Valrhona and colourful wall of crushed cans sourced from the hotel, THE CRUSHED CANS SERIES can be viewed at the hotel lobby from now till the end of April.
