The LUXE Lowdown: Since opening in 2008, the St. Regis Singapore has undergone its first refresh with beautifully revamped guest rooms and suites, restaurants and event spaces – and it’s looking better than ever. Live like an aristocrat in plush, regal quarters centrally located near Singapore Botanic Gardens and the Orchard Road shopping district, and bask in the comfort of 24/7 butler service and plenty of wellness options to sweat, relax and unwind in the middle of the city.
Location

Centrally located in Singapore, getting to St. Regis Singapore from Changi airport takes just 20-30 minutes on average (depending on traffic). Shopaholics will love the hotel’s proximity (read: a 2-minute walk) to Orchard Road, while nature lovers can unwind with the lush green views of the Singapore Botanic Gardens just outside of the hotel.
Rooms and suites
Staying at a St. Regis hotel certainly makes you feel like royalty, and the St. Regis Singapore is no different. From the expansive lobby to the suites with plush beds, loungers, chandeliers and carpets in rich tapestries (now updated in calming shades of blue and dark mahagony), this is the place to live out your aristocratic fantasy.

There are a total of 299 rooms and suites in the hotel, all of which have a study desk, a 65-inch TV (yes, that’s huge), marble bathroom with double vanities (and plenty of mirrors for self-admiration), a standing shower and separate bathtub, and expansive views of the city or gardens.

Our Lady Astor Double Suite (at 56 square metres/603 square feet) was extremely spacious and comfortable with two double beds (very rare to find), a windowside lounger, marble bathroom with double sinks, a separate shower and bathtub with a city view. We especially loved the new feature of having hot and cold water on tap for instant cups of tea, coffee and general drinking water (an effort by the hotel to reduce and eventually eliminate all single-use plastic water bottles).
Dining
As part of the tranformation, the St. Regis Singapore has unveiled a brand new look for The Tea Room – a cosy and elegant space right next to the lobby that serves their signature afternoon tea and handcrafted pastries paired with coffee by Tanamera and teas by Taylors of Harrogate.

The all-new The Astor Grill also invites guests to enjoy a bright, sunlit meal in a glasshouse-like setting with their floor-to-ceiling windows and water fountains putting on a show outside. Besides enjoying a lavish buffet breakfast here, The Astor Grill also serves prime cuts of steak and seafood through their set and seasonal menus.

Other dining options at the St. Regis Singapore include The Patisserie for cakes, pastries and gourmet gifts, Yan Ting for classic Cantonese cuisine, Tentsuru for premium tempura and Shinji by Kanesaka for an exquisite, traditional Japanese meal.

For evening tipples, the newly re-opened St. Regis Bar is the spot to be, where you’ll be transported back to early 20th-century Manhattan through signature cocktails reflecting both New York and Singapore. Try the Straits Mary, a smoky deconstructed version of the vodka-and-tomato cocktail created by barman Fernand Petiot at The St. Regis New York, this time made with bak kwa-infused bourbon, chilli padi, and a mix of spices.
Wellness
The gym, spa and swimming pool are located on the second floor of the St. Regis Singapore – and definitely worth a visit. Decked out in shades of beige, cream, bronze and wood, the Spa is especially relaxing and offers a menu of massages, facials and mani-pedis.

Hotel guests can also enjoy the spa facilities during the spa’s opening hours, which include luxurious heated wave loungers, indoor and outdoor jacuzzis, dry Finnish saunas and minty-scented steamrooms. We especially loved the relaxation areas that are separated by softly swaying curtains (DND, indeed).

What else
Of course, what’s just as legendary as the St. Regis itself are the St. Regis butlers, who are on-hand and available 24/7 to tend to your every need.

The hotel is also home to a private art collection of more than 70 pieces by local and international artists – Pablo Picasso and Marc Chagall to Georgette Chen, Anthony Poon, Cheong Soo Pieng and Li Chen. Guests can join the butler-led hotel art tour that takes place every evening at 5:30PM, which ends just in time for the evening sabrage.

This well-loved tradition of sabering a bottle of champagne – with a custom-made saber by Christofle – takes place at every St. Regis hotel around the world, so don’t miss it at the lobby of St. Regis Singapore every evening at 6:30PM, and toast to a fabulous stay with a complimentary glass of champagne.
