LUXE City Pups: Chubberson aka. @chubbersonthecorgi

We’re back with another edition of LUXE City Pups, our most paw-pular column showcasing the luxe lives of posh and pampered pooches around the world.

Next up is Chubberson, a tricolour Pembroke Welsh Corgi who’s livin’ it up (as high as he can) in the City of Glass (aka. Vancouver, Canada). Below, Chubbers lets us in on the best dog-friendly spots in Vancouver, including his fave walks, parks, treats, staycays, and more!

Dog-friendly cafes/restaurants in Vancouver:

One of my favourite cafes to visit in Vancouver is @pittiecoffee on Main St. because they have great coffee and pastries, but also some treats at the front for us pups!

Not too far away is @kindcafeyvr, with a large outdoor patio. Check out @sweetspotvan, a food truck located in Yaletown for a pawpsicle for us doggos and ice cream for the humans too! We love to visit @libertecafeandrestaurant for a specialty cappuccino – you can put your pup’s face on it!

Other notable mentions are Kinton Ramen on campus at the University of British Columbia (UBC) and @oeb_breakfast at The Amazing Brentwood. If ever you find yourself without patio seating, both of these locations have lots of various other outdoor seating where you can find a spot for your take out.

Head to Port Moody to check out @rockypointicecream for a special Pup Cup of ice cream, and @parksidebrewery to grab a cold one! This area is so convenient for brewery hopping, food trucks, and a lovely scenic walk around Rocky Point Park.

Dog-friendly hikes in Vancouver

Now keep in mind – I’ve got some small little legs! Because of this, we often gravitate to lots of trail options for our hikes. Lighthouse Park in West Vancouver is perfect, because it has both wide paths and a few more adventurous trails that you could take.

We also go to Pacific Spirit Park by UBC for optional dog off leash trails. In Burnaby, we love to walk around Deer Lake and Burnaby Mountain. In North Vancouver, you can visit Dog Mountain and Lynn Headwaters.

If there’s one thing you can count on, it’s all of the hiking variety that you can find in Vancouver and the Lower Mainland!

Dog-friendly beaches in Vancouver

Our most favourite beach is Spanish Banks. It’s perfect for people watching, playing in the water, walking out at low tide, and zooming in the sand. English Bay in Downtown Vancouver is perfect if you want to be closer to the big city action and head into Stanley Park.

Best city walks with dogs in Vancouver

Speaking of Stanley Park, you can follow the infamous Seawall all the way around and enjoy views of the water, mountains, and trees (and a few beaches along the way!).

Did you know the @aquabus is dog friendly? It’ll make stops at Olympic Village via False Creek and connect you to the charming Granville Island, Yaletown, and David Lam Park. Check out Queen Elizabeth Park and Central Park for on leash walking and you can find lots of areas to set up for a picnic!

Dog parks in Vancouver

While there are many dog parks in the Lower Mainland, Trout Lake has a lovely off leash dog area that has beach access to the lake! Our most favorite is Barnet Marine Park which is an incredibly large off leash dog park in Burnaby. Dogs have access to on leash trails as well as water access to Burrard Inlet.

Also in Burnaby, we love Confederation Park where there are separate dog parks for big and little dogs, as well as an off leash trail close by.

Anywhere else?

If you want to take a weekend getaway from Vancouver, you can visit one of the Southern Gulf Islands or Vancouver Island via BC Ferries. I loved staying @thetidescottages on Pender Island and exploring all the new beaches and trails! Make sure to make a reservation for your ferry sailing in advance!

Favourite dog snacks

My favourite snack is beef liver, especially from @granvilleislandpettreatery and @freshbark.co! Some of our favourite doggy shops in Vancouver are @shopgoodboy and @3dogvancouver on Main Street, and @discoverdogs on Fraser Street.

The Lower Mainland has many boutique and unique doggy shops that you have to visit! We love to visit @gpf_burnaby and @bigdoglittledogbakery on Hastings St. in Burnaby too!

Dog outfitters in Vancouver

We have lots of bandanas from @onewildpup and @ruffbymaple! We love their snaps at the back of their bandanas for easy on and off.

We have the cutest harness, collar, and leash set from @barker.boutique, and our most favourite sweater comes from @tinyinu! Our favourite dog pet tags come from @taggedbyollie.

Dog groomers in Vancouver

I shed so much, so my hair never gets too long – my humans are my personal groomers!  @rexdoghotel offers spa services for dogs in Vancouver. @puptowngirls in Burnaby is where my cousin goes, and she’s an Australian labradoodle with a beautiful fluffy coat!

Dog-friendly staycations in Vancouver

If I was traveling to Vancouver, I would want to stay at @fairmontwaterfront! Pet friendly and right inside downtown Vancouver, you definitely can’t go wrong!

@shangrila_van is also located downtown and is such a beautiful hotel! @vanmarriott has many rooms and suites that are pet-friendly, so feel comfortable bringing us puppers with you!

Chubbers’ favourite photo ever

Me and mom (Photo: @chubbersonthecorgi/Instagram)

This is my favourite photo with my mom! I love this photo because of how dapper I look in my bow tie and I really enjoyed being in David Lam Park with my mom on a picnic. Perfect weather and perfect company!
