Why We Love It:
Perched 70 floors high atop Swissôtel The Stamford Singapore, a meal at JAAN by Kirk Westaway feels like you’re dining dreamily among the clouds.
Floor-to-ceiling windows let in loads of natural light that illuminate Chef Kirk’s beautifully plated dishes, all of which represent his unique version of Modern British cuisine.
No detail has been left unturned, with the bespoke tableware and custom furny creating the perfect atmos for a milestone celebration or indulgent meal just because.
If the wraparound views of Singapore below (including a bird’s eye view of the iconic Marina Bay Sands) weren’t impressive enough, the statement light installation in the centre of the dining room should do the trick. Made from hand-blown Italian Murano Glass upcycled from the resto’s OG chandelier, the piece was inspired by hawthorn trees and adds a glittering feel to the space.
Menu-wise, each dish is plated to perfection like miniature works of art, and all of it looks as great as they taste. Service is also extremely personable and attentive, with the presentation of Chef Kirk’s lemon butter scooped and served tableside as a highlight.
Chef Kirk himself adds to the entire experience with his friendly, approachable self. Coming around each table to greet and chat with everyone, he truly makes it feel like you’re a guest in his (very luxurious) home.
