6 Christmas markets and pop-ups in Hong Kong

As if Honkongers needed an excuse to shop, now Christmas is almost upon us. You could go down the rabbit hole of online retail or run around town like a headless turkey. Or simply head to our pick of Christmas markets for some festive cheer and that something special for your loved ones (or yourself).

Discovery Bay Christmas and Chinese New Year Markets

Locally handmade products are the focus of the monthly Discovery Bay Sunday Markets. A whopping 150 brands will be showing their wares, from cheese and chocolate to jewellery, bags, clothing, pet accessories, candles, stationery and a heap more. The Christmas market is on 11 December, and a Chinese New Year market will be held on 15 January 2023.

Island Shangri-La Christmas Market

The gleaming lobby of the Island Shangri-La has been transformed into a winter wonderland, with traditional-style stalls selling festive delights including Christmas decorations and crackers, toys, as well as gourmet goods from the hotel’s acclaimed kitchens. You can even win prizes by finding golden tickets hidden in chocolate bars. Until 27 December.

Xmas Wonder Market

Murray House will be the setting for Stanley’s annual Xmas Wonder Market. An array of local and emerging vendors will be selling all manner of things for kids, teens, tweens, adults, and furry friends. The market runs on weekends right up to Christmas Day itself, in case you’re stuck for last-minute gift ideas. Until 26 December.

The Murray Christmas Market

Not to be confused with Murray House is the Christmas market at The Murray hotel in Central. For four days only, The Arches outdoor space will become a festive marketplace for premium gourmet treats, teas, wines, jewellery, clothing, and art. Young ones can pay a visit to Santa’s holiday grotto while there. From 19-22 December.

K11 Musea Christmas Village Market

Harbourfront mall K11 Musea celebrates Christmas with a pop-up that runs into the new year. Pick up all sorts of goodies including edible treats from the likes of Bel-Zims Chocolatier, Coffee Island, and Maison Argaud. Wellness comes in the form of skincare brands The Hubble Studio, and The White Concepts, herbal teas from 00rings, and much, much more. Until 2 January 2023.
