It may seem far to Centralites, but those who dare to venture out east will be rewarded by a plethora of art, history and culture all wrapped up in a hip, Instagrammable package. From the Transformer-like Monster Mansion to hidden homegrown brands and boutiques, here’s where to make a day out of Quarry Bay.

A. Para Site

Start your day at this artist-run co-op turned leading contemporary gallery and event space housing multimedia exhibitions and collaborations by edgy up-and-comers and well-known names. A rolling two-month residency programme makes for regular artist-driven studio visits, talks, screenings and performances.

B. Quarry Bay Promenade

Make your way over to this scenic, seaside boardwalk shared by pups, joggers and walkers alike. Look out for the surprisingly nimble seniors stretching and dancing along the path, which extends all the way to Shau Kei Wan Typhoon Shelter.

G. Sugar at East Hotel

Watch the sun go down at this slinky, rooftop jewel of the East, popular with an after-work crowd who go for top ’tails and even better views of the alt side of Victoria Harbour.
