Nopa, Istanbul: Dining Under The Stars

The savvy folks at Istanbul’s House Hotel group are behind some of the chicest mod Turk designer dens in town, and with their Galatasaray property prove they sure know a thing or two about vintage Ottoman opulence as well.

Little surprise then to learn that they’ve combined style portfolios in the unveiling of Nopa, a glam restaurant concept that effortlessly mixes old and new influences, as well as cuisine from East and West…

Designed by Autoban and neatly melding marble, leather, and living green walls into an indoor/outdoor drink n’ diner, Nopa is a happy hour frontrunner with its scenester long bar, while for dinner the terrace tables are just gorgeous during the balmy summer and autumn months.

From The House Cafe comes chef Deniz Ahmet Köse, who dishes up an international-leaning menu with a main focus on traditionally-prepared meats (try the oak-grilled lamb or killer T-bone), while seafood and pasta dishes with a Western slant play backup. Not to fret as the winter draws closer, however – the retractable glass roof will provide shelter from the cold, but preserve the romantic ambience of dining directly under the stars. Twinkle on!
