Paris’ Best Running Routes

New season, new you? Spring is in the air so get ready to pound the streets of Paris along one of these picturesque running routes. From vast leafy parks to petit jardines we tick off the best places in Paris to get your jog on.

For a tree-lined promenade with spectacular views, nip to Parc des Buttes Chaumont. Located in the 19th arrondissement, this is one of the city’s hillier spaces so prepare for lots of ups n’ downs; you’ll also find duskers and dawners running here aplenty. Fun fact? It’s also known as the ‘Central Park of Paris’.

La Seine isn’t just for snap-happy tourists; it’s also a great spot for a riverside run. Ideal for a hassle- free workout (thanks to being flat and largely car-free) this is a popular choice with newbies. If you need some iconic inspo along the way don’t forget to look up; the Eiffel Tower, Louvre and Musée d’Orsay can all be marvelled at en route. Start at start Pont de l’Alma.

What Le Jardins des Tuileries lacks in size it makes up for in compactness – this cute-as-a-button garden is perfect for a quick workout. Centrally located between the Louvre and Place de la Concorde, this is a tiptop choice for a streamlined sprint sess. 113 Rue de Rivoli

On the other end of the size spectrum is Les Bois de Vincennes, Paris’ biggest green space. Get lost among the leafy, wooded paths as you stride past the lake and the park’s very own chateau. Understandably, this is one of the City of Light’s most popular running routes – shy Suzies take note. Route de la Pyramide /  12th arr

For a more local perspective Canal St Martin’s dreamy, tree-dappled towpath is a peaceful option for joggers. Meander along the 5 km stretch from the Bastille to Parc de Villette, while you take in the quaint Parisian houses and cafes that flank either side. Très bien!
