Potato Head Folk, Singapore: Drop It Like It’s Hot

It’s worth a visit to Singapore’s iconic Chinatown for top-notch dim sum and Instagram-worthy heritage alone, but for something decidedly more mod, hotfoot it to quirk-chic burger joint Potato Head Folk.

The ultra-hip, Jakarta import occupies a four-storey Art Deco building that pops with Oz artist David Bromley’s colourful bird and butterfly motifs, and jumbles of mismatched vintage furniture. And that’s just the eye-candy…

Tickling taste buds within is bi-level gourmet patty perch are three separate destis: Three Buns, where you’ll find Brit chef Adam Penney’s signature Baby Huey, oozing with cheese, pickles and spicy mayo – the perfect partner in calorific crime to the thick, hand-cut Naughty Fries topped with a spicy béarnaise, beef chili, and crispy shallots; for afters, intimate upstairs glamourpuss Studio 1939, where Dre Masso serves classic cocktails in an antique Chinese setting; and above that, the Rooftop, a tropical hideaway bursting with fragrant flora and surrounded by sparkly city views. Tiptop beef and booze barn!
