It’s smack bang in the midst of the urban jungle, but set one foot beyond the striking grey facade and you’ll feel transported miles away. Where? China’s sleek ‘urban resort’, the PuLi Hotel and Spa, but of course.
This contemporary beacon of bliss is an excellent five-star oasis; a vision of rich dark woods, taupe touches, and silk accents that bring the zen to you. Each room and suite is handsomely outfitted, some with twinkly cityscapes or park angles, and all with mod cons.
As for the rest – Mich-starred PHÉNIX restaurant is home to Chef Michael Wilson’s Gallic treats; The Long Bar boasts, well, a lovely 32m long wooden bar with Prossy and champers at the ready; while the Garden Terrace is a lush and leafy all-day alfresco enclave. When it all gets too much, check into the divine on-site Anantara Spa for a few hours of tip-to-toe R&R, or plunge into the tranquil indoor dipper. Home away from home!
