Sienna Miller ain’t the only girl rocking boho in Hollywood, Los Angeles nightlife king Sam Nazarian is too. No silly, he hasn’t traded in his bodyguard suits for beaded sandals, but rather glamazon hotel The Redbury, a fine follow up to paparazzi hotspots Katsuya, XIV, Bazaar et al.
With his previous haute-tel SLS, he went the whimsical glitzy Starck route, but this time round he’s teamed up with photographer to the stars Matthew Rolston, and it’s eclectic to the max.
The 57 apartments are a study in ‘more is more’, layering rich, tomato coloured walls with ikat, paisley and velvet, and plied with enough antiques and fauxtiques for a flea market. But it’s not just form, these pads are packed with amenties – from a practical kitchen and washer/dryer, to WiFi, HD LCD TVs and more techy acronyms. Cleo, the hotel’s Mediterranean resto, is on a slighted more muted but no less eccentric design vein, with a daring yet hands-on approach of its namesake. It’s psychedelic European bistro meets Californian warehouse, with an open kitchen so you can goggle Executive Chef Danny Elmaleh juggling his tasty nuggets. Hey, what happens at The Redbury, stays at The Redbury.
