Soho House Berlin: Hip Haus

Sitting smack bang in sceney central Mitte, in a late-Bauhaus building and former Stasi HQ, the largest outpost of London’s members-only Soho House is one too-cool kitten, from her Damien Hirst graffiti-art atrium and resplendent rooftop plunge pool (a favourite haunt of bright young lieblings), to her steamy Cow Shed spa and 30-seat screening cinema.

Even ironically-monikered Tiny rooms have super-king beds, double showers and vintage furny (more kitsch pop than Eastern Bloc), but size up to an Extra Large for a free-standing, in-room bath, elsewise loft-like apartments have pimped-out kitchenettes, walk-in robes and a whole host of techy-moddy extras. Sunny days should start on-high with breakfast on the rooftop overlooking the bustle of Torstrasse below, for supper there’s glassy farm-to-forker Cookhouse, and don’t forget a bevy of chill and swill options abound from the chandelier-lit Club, to the pool-side terrace and the cosy Library. All that and Berlin’s best bits are but a skip away. Wunderbar!
