Southside Star: The Arca, Hong Kong

It’s not often that Hong Kong gets a new hotel, so the arrival of The Arca in Wong Chuk Hang has stirred up quite the buzz. With 187 rooms and suites – many of which face Aberdeen Harbour – The Arca is already popular amongst local staycationers and definitely worth a spot in your black book. The best part? Four-legged friends are welcome, too!

Thanks to the MTR’s South Island line, The Arca is easily accessible via the Wong Chuk Hang station. With plenty of eateries around the neighbourhood and fam-friendly Ocean Park just one stop away, heading towards town is also easy-peasy. Just hop on the MTR and you’ll be in Admiralty in under 10 minutes.

Rooms

The Arca boasts 187 pet-friendly rooms and suites starting at 330 square feet (30.6 square metres), not bad at all for a boutique hotel in a space-starved city. Sea Signature rooms are great for couples, while the City Buddies and City Deluxe rooms can sleep up to three adults.

Scale up by booking one of the suites – the family and deluxe suites come with their own kitchenettes and bars, meaning you can pre-party at your leisure.

Dining

When it comes to F&B, grab your grub from Arca Society on the third floor replete with its own outdoor terrace, and indulge in a mix of Asian and Western dishes to satisfy your cravings. Up on the rooftop is Arca Sky, where you’ll find curated wines, beers and handcrafted cocktails. Cin cin!

Want to get your adrenaline pumping in other ways? Head to The Arca’s fitness centre or rooftop pool, or check with the hotel concierge for their program of special events and experiences. Yoga classes on the rooftop and fairs at the hotel’s dedicated event space, Arca Assembly, are in the works, we hear.
