Bring the Gang: 137 Pillars Residences, Bangkok

Whether it’s a baecation, familymoon, or friendvacay – yes, those are new travel terms now – planning a group trip is no walk in the park. But if you’re headed to Bangkok with the whole gang, we’ve got the lowdown on one of the best places to stay.

At 137 Pillars Suites & Residences (one of our all-time #LUXELoves, by the way), you’ll have the choice of either booking several suites for your gang or going for the homey, fully-fitted out residences that can even be connected, if you wish. Both are excellent options, and we recently had the chance to try out the plush and stylish residences of 137 Pillars in Bangkok.

Location

Located in the upscale Phrom Phong neighbourhood (with plenty of Japanese shops and residents represented), 137 Pillars Suites & Residences Bangkok is around a 15-20 minute walk from Phrom Phong BTS station. Not to fret – both suite and resident guests have access to the complimentary hotel shuttle available every hour to and from the BTS station in their signature purple London cab, Louie.

Residences

Depending on your group size, each Residence at 137 Pillars can sleep anywhere from two to three guests each. Offering plenty of space for your gang, Executive Studios range from 40-45 square metres, One Bedroom Residences are 65 square metres and Executive One Bedroom Residences are 71 square metres.

All residences come with king or twin bed options, a separate living area, bathroom with either a shared or separate tub and shower, kitchenette or full kitchen, washer and dryer, and a private balcony to admire the Bangkok skyscape views.

Homey and bright, we loved how the Residences had plenty of sunlight coming through the windows, clean hardwood floors, sumptuous, patterned fabrics and a pop of colour in its decor. It definitely felt like a home away from home, especially with the dining table where we could share meals, and the washer/dryer combo for doing heavy duty laundry (a must when you’re with a group).

Facilities

As guests of 137 Pillars’ Residences, you’ll have access to the hotel’s main swimming pool and jacuzzi on the 27th floor and the hotel’s F&B venues such as Bangkok Trading Post and Nimitr.

In additon, there’s Nita Serenity Centre for spa treatments, a 24/7 gym, golf driving range, mini putting green and complimentary shuttles to and from Phrom Phong BTS station. Translation: there’s no shortage of things to do, so you and your gang definitely won’t be bored.

Verdict

Instead of staying at mass hotels and separate hotel rooms next time you take a group trip to Bangkok, upgrade your trip to a more cosier one at 137 Pillars’ Residences. All of the amenities and services of a hotel but with the luxury of feeling right at home – what’s not to love?
